During May, the fun and festivities of the Spanish fair came to London with the Sherry Tour of London, showcasing the delights of sherry in all its styles while celebrating the fair’s festivities in Spain. Across the city, bars and restaurants were ready to celebrate sherry wines with a range of activities.

In total, more than 46 venues showcased the best of sherry. From special dishes, cocktails and experiences, activities took place throughout the month in these venues. 

All the bars and restaurants signed up to embrace and celebrate this wonderful drink’s versatility, from dry and fresh finos and manzanillas to creamy ones.

Jose Pizarro’s

Among the tapas presented, chef José Pizarro’s exclusive dish of Grilled Calamari, 5J 100% Acorn-fed Ibérico Ham, Cream of Potato, Pine Nut Picada and Oloroso Sherry Sauce at all his London restaurants.

Cinnamon Club

You could head to Cinnamon Club for Kokum-crusted halibut paired with Amontillado Sherry. 

Camino’s restaurants

Another star tapa was the slow-roasted suckling pig, pressed and pan-roasted served with Oloroso sherry jus at Camino’s restaurants. 

Ember Yard’s

For those with a sweet tooth, Ember Yard’s hot chocolate fondant, salted caramel, hazelnut praline and Pedro Ximenez vanilla ice cream was a must.

At Mesón Don Felipe you could enjoy a flight of 3 sherries, a limited edition Fino, a 12-year-old Palo Cortado and a Pedro Ximenez.

Ibérica

Ibérica organised “sherry experiences” in all its venues, customers could book in advance to enjoy a tasting flight of five sherries and paired aperitifs. 

Other venues offering drinks specials deals for the Sherry Tour of London include Callooh Callay Chelsea, Barsito, The Tapas Room, Llerena, Escocesca, Bar Esteban and Bar Pepito. 

The London Sherry Tour has been a massive event with more than good results. More than 45 bars and restaurants paid tribute to Sherry wines and showcased their versatility, with special dishes, Sherry flights, exclusive pairings and cocktails, creating the biggest celebration of Spanish drinking in London.

These Sherry cocktails were crafted with centuries-old traditions, capturing the essence of southern Spain: its climate, its history, its culture and its people.
