Summer means spending as much time outside as possible, preferably by a pool or the beach, with frozen drinks, icy mojitos or tropical and sherry mixed cocktails. There are cocktails for every mood, party, and holiday this summer, and we want to give you our recommendations about sherry cocktails!

11 Sherry cocktails ideas for this summer

  • Sherry Fine 

If you like Martinis, you will love Fino Sherry wine. The clean gin joins up with herbal yellow Chartreuse, delicate and slightly sweet blanc vermouth, and nutty and fresh Fino to create a perfect aperitif.


  • 1 oz Gin
  • 3/4 oz Fino Sherry wine
  • 3/4 oz White Vermouth
  • 1/2 oz Yellow Chartreuse
  • 3 dashes of Orange Bitters
  • 1 thick lemon peel

Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a cocktail glass with ice and stir until very well-chilled. Strain into Nick and Nora’s glass. Then, twist a thick lemon peel over the top to spray its citrus oils on the surface of the drink, and discard.

  • Bamboo

The Bamboo’s blend of dry sherry, French vermouth and orange bitters evokes balmy continental evenings and southern Europeans enjoying their six-month summer vacations. Created in the 1890s by German bartender Louis Eppinger of the Grand Hotel in Yokohama Japan, the Bamboo has become a world-renown classic cocktail.


  • 30ml Fino Sherry wine
  • 30ml Dry vermouth
  • 2-3 dashes of Orange bitters
  • Twist Lemon
  • 1 Olive

Preparation: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass. Add ice and stir until chilled and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

  • Ma Chérie

A bright and fresh low-proof cocktail that is the perfect way to start the evening.


  • 2.5 oz Fino Sherry
  • 5 oz fresh lime juice
  • 5 oz Pineapple Gomme ( Gomme Arabic infused with fresh pineapple)
  • 25 oz Falernum
  • 25 oz Herb Green licor
  • 10 drops Saline Solution (1 part salt to 10 part water)

Preparation: Shake over ice with 1/2 inch of celery and a slice of cucumber. Strain into a Highball, add crushed ice and garnish with a long slice of cucumber.

  • Velvet Jukebox

Inspired by the sultry sounds of ’60s soul, lyrics of both love and protest, this silky-spicy number plays best with a sweet-n-savoury plate of braised Duroc Pork Belly, roasted root vegetables, apple-fennel veloute, and orange glaze.


  • 1 ounce Manzanilla Sherry wine
  • 1 ounce white tequila
  • 1/2 ounce Gin
  • 1/2 ounce ginger syrup (recipe below)
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • 2 dashes of cayenne tincture (recipe below)
  • Garnish with a grapefruit twist

Preparation: Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice and shake until thoroughly chilled. Fine strain into a chilled coupe. Finally, garnish with a grapefruit twist

How to make Ginger Syrup?


  • 2 1/2 pounds ginger, peeled and chopped
  • 2 pounds cane sugar
  • 1 quart water

Preparation: Combine ingredients in a stockpot over medium heat. Cook until the sugar is dissolved. Puree in a food processor. Strain, bottle and refrigerate. Yields 2 quarts.

How to make Cayenne Tincture?

Preparation: In a 1 quart Mason jar, combine the peels of eight lemons and three tablespoons of pink peppercorns. Fill with 750ml of white tequila. Shake, seal, and let it sit at room temp for five to seven days. Shake the mixture about once a day. Strain and discard any solids. Add three tablespoons of cayenne pepper powder to the jar and shake again. Shake before using.

  • Sherry Cobbler

This Sherry Cocktail dates back to 1840, blending sweet Sherry wine with dry Sherry, shaken with a tablespoon of sugar, poured over a tall glass of crushed ice & garnished with fruit.


  • 70ml Dry Sherry wine
  • 15ml Sweet Sherry wine
  • ½ Lemon in quarters
  • ½ Orange in quarters
  • 2 Raspberries

Preparation: Shake in a shaker and mix with red fruits and mint in a highball cup.

  • Cream Mojito

The new cocktail is made from cream Sherry wine, fresh lemon, lime and ginger ale.


  • 4 slice lime
  • half lemon
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 25ml cream Oloroso Sherry Wine
  • 1 bottle of ginger ale 
  • 2 leaves of mint for garnish
  • crushed ice

Preparation: Crush the lime pieces with the lemon juice and sugar, extracting the juices. Fill the glass to 3/4 with crushed ice, adding Sherry wine and Ginger Ale. Garnish with mint leaves.

  • In the Clouds

You don’t have to fly to New Orleans to sip this smooth, nutty concoction, because we have this recipe.


  • 1oz Aguardiente
  • 75 raspberry cream 
  • 5 Oloroso Sherry wine
  • 1oz Lime Juice
  • 25 Simple syrup
  • 1 Egg white

Preparation: Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker, shake, shake, shake and strain twice before pouring into a coupe glass. Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel.

  • Chamomile Snapper

This cocktail was created especially for International Sherry Week 2016.


  • 30ml Manzanilla Sherry wine
  • 30ml Gin
  • 3 Cherry tomatoes
  • 10ml White balsamic
  • 4 dashes tabasco
  • Pinch pink pepper
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 10ml Fresh lemon juice

Preparation: Muddle Cherry Tomatoes in the base of the shaker and add the rest of your ingredients. Then, throw over ice and serve neat in a chilled coupette. Finally, garnish with a cherry tomato and an olive.

  • Rebujito Ice

The Rebujito Ice, it’s an easy cocktail with Fino Sherry wine, Sprite, a touch of tequila and crushed ice.


  • 50 ml Fino Sherry wine
  • 250ml Sprite
  • 2 leaves mint
  • 1 slice lime
  • 10ml tequila

Preparation: In a long glass filled with crushed ice, add the Fino Sherry Wine, sprite and tequila. Stir gently and garnish with mint leaves and a slice of lime.

  • Jerez Cosmopolitan

The classic Bloody Mary is in its most sherry version. 


  • 200 gr tomato liqueur
  • 75 gr Fino Sherry wine
  • Pinch of pepper
  • Drop of kimchee
  • Pinch of salt
  • 100 gr ice
  • Stick of celery

Preparation: Mix all ingredients and shake with ice in a shaker and garnish with the celery.

  • Appetizer

Inspired by the classic Dry Martini.  The appetizer includes Amontillado, giving this cocktail a dry finish on the palate. This, combined with the bitter notes of the dry vermouth and the sweetness of the Italian vermouth, blends perfectly with a spicy touch. 


  • 7 cl Gin
  • 1 cl. dry vermouth
  • 1 cl. Amontillado 
  • 0.5 cl. Italian Vermouth

Preparation: Pour all ingredients into a Manhattan shaker and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain and serve in a martini glass and garnish with lime perfume.
